Dr. Bernardo Lejano in 2019 IABSE (International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineer Congress) Congress New York



New York, USA - Last September 2-6, 2019, Civil Engineering Department Professor, Dr. Bernardo Lejano, presented his paper with the title "C-section Cold-Formed Steel as Structural Members in Housing Construction in the Philippines" in the 2019 IABSE (International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineer Congress) Congress New York.



September 2-3 was the IABSE Annual meetings and September 4-6 was the Scientific Program which included Plenary and Concurrent Sessions, Panel Discussion, and Technical Tours.  The Sessions topics were the following: (1) The 200-Year Bridge, 2. Tomorrow’s Affordable Housing, (3) Extreme Events, Climate Change and the Resilient Metropolis, (4) Urban Infrastructure: Design and Preservation, (5) Mitigating Fire Hazards Through Engineering, (6) Globalization and Structural Engineering, and (7) Technology, Automation, and Innovation.

2019 IABSE Congress New York City main theme is Evolving Metropolis. The Evolving Metropolis will address the social and economic needs of the world with sessions on Durable Bridges and Affordable Housing as well as numerous other important and current issues presented in our world.
