Dr. Andres Oreta was one of the plenary paper presentor at PAASE-APAM2024 EVSU Symposium on “Technological Innovations in DRRM Towards Resiliency” held at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte. Dr. Oreta presented on “SHAKE TABLE TESTING HANDS-ON EXERCISES FOR TRAINING FUTURE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS FOR THE “BIG ONE”. The paper is co-authored with Jade Ching, Aldrei Ong, Vicente Raphael Chan, Rei Kevin Tungcab, Dr. Rodolfo Mendoza Jr and and Dr. Lessandro Garciano. During the symposium, a rapid fire poster presentation was held where two of the DLSU Graduate Students participated. Engr. Joseph Bianes (MSCE student) who was declared the winner presented on “Mandaluyong City Disaster Resiliency Assessment.” Meanwhile, Engr. Mary Joane Aninon (PhD student) was 3rd in the competition with her poster on “Assessing the Disaster Resilience of a City: The Case of Davao City, Philippines.”
