From October 8 to 11, 2023, Mr. Ryan Sylvester Chan, a BSMS student, showcased his paper titled “Application of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making in the Design of a Post-Disaster Transitional Shelter” at the 26th Conference on Process Integration, Modelling, and Optimisation for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction (PRES’23) in Thessaloniki, Greece. The paper, co-authored by Dr. Jason Maximino C. Ongpeng and Engr. Cheryl Lyne C. Roxas, falls within the topic of process integration for sustainable development.
For over 25 years, the PRES conferences have been at the forefront of discussing innovative solutions for efficient and sustainable industrial and regional systems. They address global challenges in energy, water, pollution, and sustainability. This year's conference included the presentation of over 100 research papers covering topics such as process analysis, modeling, optimization, sustainable processing and production, footprint minimization and mitigation, and energy-saving technologies. Notably, the conference was conducted through both onsite and virtual modes, enabling a diverse and extensive exchange of ideas and research findings.
