CESDR Subcenter for Sustainable Mobility conducts Transportation Modeling Seminar/Workshop

A one-day seminar/workshop on transport modeling softwares was conducted at De La Salle University last September 16. Dr. Bryce Sharman, training coordinator of INRO, and Dr. Alexis Fillone, presented the tools and methodologies for regional transport planning, traffic simulation and visual analytics for big data in mobility. The seminar and workshop is supported by the Sustainable Mobility Sub-Center, Center for Engineering and Sustainable Development Research of the Gokongwei College of Engineering.

Participants witnessed the various applications and experiences in using the INRO software for macro-, meso-, and microscopic transportation modeling. Dr. Sharman presented the transport models of other countries while Dr. Alexis Fillone of the DLSU CE Department and Engr. Kervin Lucas shared their experiences in using the software for local projects and studies.
The afternoon session was scheduled as a hands-on training for EMME (macroscopic modeling software of INRO). Dr. Sharman introduced the fundamentals while participants explored the capabilities of the modeling software.

The workshop was attended by students, faculty, and professionals who are involved in the field of Transport Planning.

The Civil Engineering Department have academic licenses of EMME and DYNAMEQ – modelling software of INRO.
