Prof. Andres Winston Oreta of the CE Department and chair of the Philippine Group of the International Association for Bridge & Structural Engineering (IABSE) presented the paper co-authored with Nikko Villanueva and Maejan Cuartero entitled, "Strength Properties and MIcroscopic Observations of Concrete with Plastic Wastes as Partial Aggregate Substitute" at the IABSE Spring Conference - Kuala Lumpur held on April 25-27, 2018. The theme of the conference is Ëngineering the Developing World."  MSCE graduate student, Kenneth Guevarra presented the paper with Dr. Jason Ongpeng (DLSU) and Sohichi Hirose (TIT), "Air-Coupled Nonlinear Ultrasonic Test for RC Beams."

Dr. Oreta joined the technical tour on the Merdeka PNB 118 which will become the tallest building in Malaysia on its completion on 2019.
